Gut feelings

At home DIY adhesion check

Aloha my pretties! This is for my c section ladies or ladies that have had an abdominal surgery and are now suffering from SIBO or weak MMC function.

  1. Lie flat on your back
  2. Gently pinch the skin and tissue underneath the c-section scar (or other abdominal scar) and lift it away from your body.
  3. Try to “roll” the skin between your fingers like a wave.
  4. If the skin feels “glued” to underlying muscle or if you feel a sharp pull deep in your gut when you move the scar, it is a strong sign adhesions are present.

If this DIY checks out for you, your next step would be contacting your GP to get a referral to a Physical Therapist or Osteopath that is trained in Viseral Manipulation, extra plus if trained in the Barral method. If you want to skip the medical route you can find a Licensed Massage Therapist that is trained in Visceral Manipulation. When dealing with SIBO I have learned everything is worth a try.

With love and laugh lines,

Heidi
